Ranking tests are basic training for young eagles, which consist of test requirements, which vary in number at each rank, but whose fields are the same through all ranks – hiking wisdom, national defence, safety, Estonian history, civic education and physical tests. The lowest is rank VI and the highest – rank I:
VI rank – 7–8-year-old young eagle,
V rank – 9–10-year-old young eagle,
IV rank – 11–12-year-old young eagle,
III rank – 13–14-year-old young eagle,
II rank – 15–16-year-old young eagle,
I rank – 17–18-year-old (incl.) young eagle.
The most common forms of activity that deal with thematic topics are nature walks, camps, study days and excursions.
The acquired ranks are denoted by the dots on the festive uniform. A young VI eagle has 1 grade dot on the uniform shirt. The owner of the highest, or 1st rank, has 6 dots above the right breast pocket.
